The training aims at delivering knowledge of English vocabulary, terms and acronyms of IT, to develop the fluency of reading, analyzing and understanding IT industry related documentation, to hone English listening skills in close to real life situations in IT companies such as business meetings, problem solving, task handling, produce launching, improving English speaking skills with integral IT terms necessary for taking and conducting interviews, participating in business negotiations, identifying faults and describing security solutions and in general feeling confident while working and networking in English speaking IT ecosystem.

The trainee will master the English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills necessary for explaining network and system security and solving customer service problems, understanding faults and proposing solutions, understanding and describing data processing steps and products, describing the features on an e-commerce website and explaining sequences of system administration tasks as well as how to define networking concepts, describing browser problems and giving instructions for using GUI and using the English knowledge in a number of real life IT industry situations.

The main result.

The trainee will have covered 16 IT English topics divided into 64 specific IT subtopics, over fifteen grammar topics, more than 200 IT terms and acronyms and 300 business expressions and phrases and 16 visual materials on IT industry. The trainee will be able to give professional presentations in English, write impressive formal e-mails, acquire necessary word-stock for outsourcing. The trainee will also have fluency to implement price negotiation and payment policy in English.

Knowledge of English

The participants should have A2 level English knowledge at least.

Trainers

Artur Mesropyan holds a PhD degree and has over ten years’ experience in English translation, interpretation, training and teaching. Has lectured in YSU. Artur worked as International Programs Manager/Translations Coordinator at Zangak Publishing House from 2013-2020. Artur is a cofounder of Ginkgo Educational Center and has taught Specialized English Courses (Business English, English for IT, English for Accountants, Law English) to a range of company employees in different business sectors and government officials. Artur has translated 8 novels (Frankenstein, Fight Club, Coraline, Never Let Me Go, When We Were Orphans etc.) and has edited over 10 titles. He has worked as freelance translator and has translated extensively in IT, Business, Economy, History, Anthropology, Medicine, Cinema, Music and many other topics.

Lusine Hayrapetyan holds a Master’s Degree in American and English studies from Schiller University (Germany) and has worked as professor’s assistant. She lectured in YSLU after Bryusov. Lusine is the cofounder and director of Ginkgo Educational Center. She has taught Specialized English Courses (Business English, English for IT, Medical English, English for Marketing and Advertisement, HR English, TOEFL, IELTS) to a great number of high rank officials and senior employees of international and big local companies. Lusine has translated into Armenian a number of academic articles and fiction novels (A Bear Called Paddington; This is Matisse/Van Gogh/Gauguin/Dali/Warhol 5 book series).
